Hector Asensio from Airbus give the AGSC a presentation in December 2005 on the new generation aircraft – the Airbus A380.
This presentation was most informative covering the concept of the aircraft to its inaugural flight and subsequent flight introductions to various destinations across the continent.
He explained how Airbus had to change its tactics and thinking in introducing this aircraft as they were now breaking new ground where before all the aircraft had been of a design that followed the aircraft footprint that where already in service. The concept also raised questions on the varied type of equipment that will be needed to service these aircraft
Hector informed the meeting on how Airbus has worked closely with the manufactures for them to design and produce the equipment to provide the service to this totally new aircraft type. Members of the AGSC can obtain a copy of the presentation by connecting info@agsc.org.uk
