The Aviation Ground Safety Council (AGSC) is an organisation open to membership as determined by the majority of representatives of the full council.
Each member is entitled to one vote.
The Council will provide a forum for the open exchange of ground safety related data in an endeavour to achieve and maintain the highest standards of overall safety in the operations of the member’s organisation.
The Council will encourage communications on ground safety matters and work to further the causes of safety education within the industry.
The Council may, after taking into consideration the policies, procedures and advice from member organisations, recommend, formulate and pursue with appropriate bodies, ground safety procedure and practices relating to operational standards within the industry.
Full membership may be granted to such organisations that operate aircraft or, are involved in the ground handling of aircraft or related activities, or are invited to attend because of their particular involvement with ground safety matters. Associate membership may also be granted to other companies as agreed by the members, but will not be entitled to voting rights.
The Council will select and appoint an Executive Committee of up to nine members, consisting of a Chairman, Deputy Chairman and the majority of members shall agree Secretary from its members, and terms of that position.
Council meetings will normally be held three times per year or at a frequency decided by the members at venues made available to the Council.
Invitations to representatives from non-member organisations to attend such meetings shall be issued by the Chairman and only with the agreement of the executive. Such non-members representative shall attend meetings in an observer capacity only unless they are attending as a guest speaker.
Any Council member, may with the approval of the Chairman and or in his unavailability, other members of the executive, represent the Council at any appropriate industry function.
